About Northern Lakes College

Northern Lakes College has experienced many changes over the past thirty-five years. We began as a small vocational college offering academic upgrading and the Educational Technician program and have continued to grow in order to meet the demands of community learners. We offer a full slate of programs ranging from Academic Upgrading, Certificate and Diploma programs, University courses and full degree programs. Through direct and distance instruction, we ensure our learners can access affordable education right from their home community.

Northern Lakes College operates in over 30 Northern Alberta communities, offering both full time and part time learning opportunities for students. Community
Education Committees from each community and the Council made up of their representatives set the priorities for programming and are integral to the running of the College. Learners in the communities served by Northern Lakes College are generally able to access courses and programs from their home campuses.
