Three awards valued at a maximum of $3000 each are available to women who wish to enter non-traditional trades. Eligible programs are: Aircraft Maintenance Engineer; Aerospace Manufacturing; Automotive Technician (Certificate or Diploma); Cabinetry & Woodworking Technology; Carpentry (five-month); CNC Machinist Technician; Collision Repair & Refinishing; Electrical (five-month); Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic; Manufacturing CAD; Marine and Powersports Technician; Plumbing (five-month); Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician (five-month) and Welding.

The awards are intended to cover the cost of tuition, fees and books and, as such, will be paid directly to the student program fees account first. Selection criteria will include satisfactory academic progress, a strong work ethic and financial need. Applications should be submitted to one of the Student Service Centres accompanied by a one-page essay or letter describing your career goals and a brief life history as well as a reference letter from a previous instructor, employer or professional who knows you well. Deadline for applications for fall start programs is October 15 and for winter start programs is March 15. Completed applications should be sent to financialaid@rrc.ca.
